What to Expect when you visit us and some helpful answers to questions can be found below. We want to welcome you as best we can to our church. You'll find relevant preaching, a meaningful time of worship, friendly people, and an enjoyable atmosphere. How do I get to Cornerstone?
We are located on Route 67 in Oxford, CT. For directions on how to find us from where you are, click here and fill out the address form at the bottom of the page.
What time do services begin and end?
Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. and lasts until about Noon. There is Sunday School on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. In addition, we hold a Bible Study every Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
What's the music like during worship?
To facilitate worship, the worship team leads the congregation in songs old and new. The musical style is current and congruent with modern worship movements in order to provide the best avenue in worship. The goal is to worship so that we may give Him glory and experience His presence in a real way.
What do I wear?
You should feel comfortale to "come as you are" to our services. You'll see anything from jeans to business casual dress on Sunday mornings.
What does your church offer for my kids?
We offer a full program called "Kid's Corner" every Sunday morning from 10:30 - 12:00 for kids grades K-6, in classroom #6. For more information click here. In addition, we have a staffed nursery for toddlers ages 2-4 in classroom #3. For newborn babies and infants, there is a nursery in the back left room of the sanctuary. You may use this room to take care of your child during service. It also features a live video feed of the service, so you can still be apart of the service.
Do I need to bring my Bible?
We would encourage you to bring your Bible since this is the basis of all sermons. The text is usually displayed on the projector, but it is encouraged that you bring your Bible to get the full experience of the message.
How do I become a member?
Pastor Randy offers a newcomers class twice a year that is held during the Sunday School hour in his office. This is a great time for you to get to know more about our church, the Assemblies of God, and to ask any questions you might have. If you would like to become a member, the last 4 weeks of this class are mandatory.
Do you have Communion?
Yes. We believe that anyone who has accepted Jesus into their life can partake in Communion. We have Communion on the second Sunday of each month.
Do you have Baptism?
Yes. Every year we provide an opportunity for believers to publicly confess their faith and engage in a full-immersion style of baptism.
