“P.R.O. Living Life Well” Our youth ministry consists of three components that we believe will help teens gain the things necessary to live life to the fullest as Christ designed (John 10:10).
P: Presence of God in teens lives. We desire to direct their attention to the reality of God in their personal lives. Not just a religious cliché or moral code, but a relational experience with God. We value “being” over “informing”, that is, to know who God is, not simply to know about God. If they have never genuinely experienced being loved by God in a way they recognize, then being with God is the #1 priority of our time together. The felt Presence of a loving God is the driving force of how their lives are developed, not programs, fun-activities or rules.
R: Relationships with that are accepting and inspiring. Personal contact with genuine care is lost in today’s world. Fear of appearances, lack of solid family roles amongst their peers and the sexual tone of entertainment have led to a definition of relationships in a teen’s world view that is selfish, superficial and barricaded. We want to make The Core youth group the place where your teen can know they will be accepted and inspired to live a great life. This is a place where friendships with adults are not to be avoided, but enjoyed and where friendships with teens of both genders are not based on flirtation, sexuality or competition, but are based on acceptance and the mutually shared love of Christ.
O: Outlook on their future is excited and open. We are striving to establish an atmosphere in our group that will encourage teens to look at their future realistically and see that it is bright with opportunity through Christ Jesus. As they face challenges (personal failures, insecurity, family problems, etc.) it will not hold God back from leading them into a positive future with wisdom and confidence.
